Bio

BIBIANA
BIBIANA is an artist whose primary field is photography, but she works heavily with installations, film, books, sound, drawings, and sculpture. Her work is a combination of strong narrative content and a raw, personal documentary style. She is obsessed with manufacturing entire worlds, taking the viewer on a trip that is visually and intellectually satisfying, but emotionally intense.

Though she swears by her Leica, she has shot projects using cellphones and scanners as cameras, conventional Polaroids, large format field cameras, and plenty of Diana and Brownie slides. She has directed & shot a feature film, "Dear Lu," printed books by hand, silkscreened & etched on metal, and walked across frozen lakes. She can be found shooting with her Diana, printing 10'x30' murals, or doing landscape photography while driving at 80 mph.

Her ongoing music & performance event, SILENCE, an "art happening", bridges the gap between contemporary classical, avant-garde, and electronic music. SILENCEs include everything from gas masks, fog machines, live bands, and poetry readings, to placing signs on rooftops for jets landing at JFK and ballet performance turned on its head.

She is currently working on her solo show, "CZ 1998-2008--perspectives from an immigrant child" at MediaNoche Gallery, Sept. 17-Nov. 6, and her second feature film.

Atelier Skrabat Produkce is simply the name of her studio.
